Melissa Franz
Melissa Franz, MSW, LCSWA (pronouns: she/her) is a devoted therapist who works with adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and couples as they encounter anxiety/OCD, trauma, life changes, disability, peer relationships, family conflict, and grief. Melissa has experience working in Counseling and Psychological Services in a higher education setting and can help clients navigate difficult life transitions. Melissa also has experience working in Vocational Rehabilitation and aids individuals in connecting with their support network to set themself up for success. Melissa enjoys utilizing a person-centered and holistic approach while incorporating aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, including exposure and response prevention, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and strength-based therapy. Melissa has experience working with individuals, parents, as well as partners and families, to achieve their mental health goals.
Life may feel overwhelming, scary, or even unlivable right now, but Melissa wants to provide reassurance that this feeling can and will pass. In her clinical practice, she works with clients to create a holistic treatment plan and approach, focusing on your strengths while making you feel heard and valued.

Q: What are Melissa's fees?
Melissa’s services are self-pay. Payment can be made via debit, credit, or HSA card. Superbills are available upon request.
Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Associate who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Melissa then attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she received her Master of Social Work. Melissa is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

During Melissa's practicum, she worked as an advocate at Disability Rights and Resources, helping inform clients of their rights as disabled individuals. This allowed Melissa to gain critical skills in conflict resolution. From there, she worked on campus at Counseling and Psychological Services. In this role, she served as a therapist to individuals seeking short-term solution-focused therapy, as well as facilitated workshops to aid those struggling with anxiety and depression to connect with others and gain helpful insight into improving their mental health. Following graduation, Melissa served as a therapist in a private practice setting, where she continued to help individuals, couples, and families develop vital skills to improve their mental health and well-being.
